Registration closing soon for Lewisville fundraiser

High Octavez is on its way to Lewisville to present its Starquest fundraiser. The event is a competition to find the best musical and dance talent in the Dallas area, and invites people to compete in one of several categories.

Musical artists have a choice of solo, semi-classical, and light categories; dancers can compete in non-classical dance, or in groups. The contest will be further divided by age, such as elementary school students, those in middle school, high school, and young adults over 18 years of age.

High Octavez is unusual in that it's a non-profit band. As the musicians became friends, they realized they had a common interest in helping others and have been donating every penny they raise at their concerts and events to help those facing illnesses. They feel being seriously ill is enough; people should not also have to worry how they're going to pay their medical bills.

The Music & Dance Showdown, as the event is known, is set for September 2, from 9.30 am until 6 pm, at Medical Center on North Charles Street in Lewisville. However, registration closes August 30, with the following fees: $20 for solo dance and music performances; and $60 for groups, which have an upper limit of eight dancers.

Events featuring live performers are exciting and fun, and organizers could work with a poster printing company to create advertisements for the evening, and perhaps offer them for sale.
