If things go along as planned, Lewisville may soon have an opportunity to enjoy a new feline-themed eatery that will also help cats find loving homes.
The Charming Cat Café will give its patrons a chance to enjoy their favorite tea, coffee, and snacks and then move on to the “cat room”, where they will be able to spend time interacting with and getting to know the cats from Lewisville Animal Services and the not for profit Kitty Save group that are up for adoption. It will also benefit its human staff, as employees of the firm will be paid a scalable living wage.
A Kickstarter online fundraiser has recently been started to help raise money for the new venture. The monies will go towards paying for the business’ building and necessary equipment to get it up and running. Once it is, a business card printing company will be able to provide cards for the management and staff.
Bev Freed, who is working hard to make the vision a reality, noted that for the past year, she has been putting in a lot of effort to get the café up and running, and the city of Lewisville has stood behind her in this regard. She remarked that once adequate funding has been obtained, the actual restaurant could be in business in as little as a few months.
