Movement on Main coming to Lewisville

The City of Lewisville, in conjunction with the Main & Mill Business Association, recently announced the Movement on Main event, coming soon.

The event is meant to bring both visitors and residents downtown to explore the area, and enjoy a day of casual shopping, games, and fun on Main Street. People who plan to come should bring a sack lunch, or buy a sandwich from one of the restaurants in Old Town.

Activities will include tricycle races, sidewalk chalk drawing, face painting, a corn-hole contest, line dancing, Zumba, and more. To enable people to enjoy the environment of Wayne Ferguson Plaza, several streets will be closed. These include Charles Street from Walters to Main, and Church Street from Herod to Mill. Organizers of events like this can use banner printing to create great decorations for the stores along Main Street.

Community partners and residents joined together to begin Movement on Main, which is a genuine grassroots effort to encourage people to get out and enjoy what Lewisville has to offer. The City of Lewisville awarded the event a grant of $500 earlier this year. The Next Steps Center at the Valley Creek Church is a co-sponsor of the outing.

‘Movement on Main’ is a family-friendly event scheduled for May 18, from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm, at the Wayne Ferguson Plaza on Church Street. Admission is free.
