Next month, Blue Anjou Studio will present The Power of Sound: Journey, Training & Certification with Kenny Kolter, which will be a certification workshop designed to introduce students to the art of healing by sound.
Sound healing involves ancient instruments such as gongs, crystal bowls, and Tibetan singing bowls to invoke healing, relaxation, and meditative experiences in those listening to them. The workshop instructor, Kenny Kolter, is a prominent gong master that has over 20 years facilitating sound healing sessions for groups and individuals. Kenny will lead the workshop to teach participants how to use these instruments on their healing journeys and introduce these healing sessions to their own students.
Participants will both experience the healing sounds of the various instruments as well as gain hands-on experience playing them and creating complex harmonious melodies. The class will also go over the history of these ancient techniques and how their practical applications line up with more contemporary methods of meditation, stress reduction, and mindfulness.
Students of workshops like this may be encouraged to bring along a pen and journal to jot down notes during the event. As such, a trip to the local Stationery printers to attain such materials may be helpful for those attending a workshop.
The sound workshop is slated for November 9 and 10. Blue Anjou Studio is located at 435 West Main Street. Tickets are $450.
