Next month, residents of Lewisville will have the chance to participate in the Roots for Wings 2024 Workshop, which is a workshop intended to help residents become certified in native plant gardens.
The Roots for Wings Program is a pilot program that aims to certify residential gardens as pollinator and native habitat gardens to improve the health of the local ecosystem. The program offers interested residents training on how to select and prepare sites, as well as how to select the right plants and maintain them. The training also educates participants on why having native habitats is so important for the ecological health of the local environment.
The March workshop is an introductory class that will teach participants the best practices for growing and maintaining a native plant garden filled with pollinator plants. After participating in the workshop, attendees will come away with a strong foundation in how to properly look after their native habitat gardens.
Educational workshops often rely on printed materials to facilitate learning in the classroom. Organizers of such workshops can receive help printing these materials from local printing services in their town or city.
The Roots for Wings Introductory Workshop is scheduled for March 2 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. It will be held at Thrive, which is located at 1950 South Valley Parkway.
