The Humane Educators of Texas in Lewisville will host two animal control classes this January to aid animal control officers or those in related fields gain further training and skills.
An organization that works to paint a different picture of animal control officers than what the public typically views them as, the Humane Educators of Texas isn’t just dogcatchers; the organization sheds light on the important role that animal control officers play in communities and offers workshops and classes to these officers to further their knowledge.
The two classes that will take place in January are Compassion Fatigue and the Animal Welfare Worker and Bohemian Tahitian Daneapugadoodle: A Breed & Genetics Review. The Compassion Fatigue class will delve into how to navigate experiencing trauma and thereby compassion fatigue from dealing with high-stress, critical animal care. The Bohemian Tahitian Daneapugadoodle class will be a review of dog and cat breeds, particularly those recognized by the by the AKC and Cat Fanciers Association.
Educational classes like these may involve learning materials such as Posters, which can help students follow along with class material. Local Print shops may offer poster printing services at an affordable discount.
The animal control classes will be held on January 6 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, one class after the other. They will take place at Lewisville City Hall, 151 W Church Street.
