Lewisville takes a walk on the dark side

People are invited to take a moonlit walk with trail guides along the Redbud Trail to hear some of the critters that make stirring sounds a night. The Night Hike is an opportunity to learn more about nocturnal creatures while remaining in safe hands.

The organizers of this event may have used services like digital poster printing to share information about this educational opportunity with residents of this community, as well as those in surrounding areas.

Participants are likely to hear the howl of coyotes, the hooting of owls, the rustle of the armadillo, and other sounds created by the creatures that are most active in the night. The walk is geared for people aged five and older, and children must be accompanied by an adult, but organizers advise that there is no need to bring a flashlight.

Guests can discover the area’s native ecosystems and learn how the people who organized this hike promote environmental education and research initiatives. Due to the time of day, walkers are reminded to dress appropriately and bring a light jacket or sweater.

Costing $10 per person, the Night Hike is taking place on Friday, April 18, from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm at the Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area located at 201 E. Jones Street. To find out more about this environmental area, visit the location’s website or call 972-219-3930.
