Lewisville rolls out its summer plans

With summer getting underway, the Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area (LLELA) has announced that it will be hosting several programs over the next few months.

An outdoor yoga class is scheduled for every Sunday during the month of June. Class starts at 8:00 am and goes until 10:00 am. The Nature Preserve can use flyer printing to promote the class and to let people know more about hatha yoga. Each class is $15, and participants should bring their own mat and bottle of water.

The LLELA Nature Preserve will also host a Wilderness Survival Adventure Camp for kids aged 7 to 13. The camp program lasts from July 28 until August 1, starting at 9:00 am and lasting until 12:00 noon each day.

At camp, kids will learn basic wilderness survival skills, such as making a shelter and building a fire. The cost of the camp is $125 and advanced registration is required.

People who do not want to register for a program can enjoy the Nature Preserve on their own throughout the summer. LLELA is open Friday through Sunday to the public for outdoor activities, such as camping, hiking, and fishing. The preserve contains 2,000 acres of forests, wetlands and prairies. It is managed by the City of Lewisville, the University of North Texas, the US Army Corps of Engineers, Texas A&M Extension, and Lewisville ISD.
