The rodeo is alive and well in Lewisville, Texas. This year, the Labor Day Rodeo will celebrate its 50th anniversary, starting at the end of the month.
As part of its silver anniversary celebration, the Lewisville Saddle Club will honor the founding families who remain with the club, just three of which remain. To recognize the founders, the rodeo could use Stationery printers to create certificates.
Over the course of three nights, about 250 participants will compete in the rodeo challenges. A quarter of the contestants come from the area, while the remaining 75 percent are rodeo challengers from around the world.
Events at the rodeo include saddle bronco riding, bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, bull riding, and women's barrel racing. There will also be several events for the younger set, including barrel racing for those under age 12, mutton busting (which is like bull riding but set up for people under eight years old), and an under-10 calf scramble.
Other activities at the rodeo include a performance from the Red River Shooting Stars Drill Team. There will also be musical performances on Saturday evening. Those who want to test their rodeo skills can try riding the mechanical bull.
The rodeo kicks off at 8:00 pm every night from August 29 to 31. Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for children. Snacks and drinks will be sold at the venue every night.Get a Free Quote for Stationery
