Summer might be unofficially over, but the people of Lewisville are still getting ready for fun in the form of the Western Days Festival, which will take place this month.
Recently, officials announced the performers that will be putting in an appearance at the festival. They include a number of country acts from Texas and Nashville, such as Robert Earl Keen, Thompson Square, and Kevin Fowler. Keen will perform on the first day of the event, while Fowler will be the headliner on the second. Thompson Square will open the show on the second night.
Keen has been playing the Texas folk scene for more than three decades and has released 12 albums. Thompson Square is a husband and wife duo with two albums out, while Fowler has seven albums and four singles that made it to the Billboard Hot Country songs charts. The organizers could use brochure printers to let festival attendees know a bit more about each act.
The concerts are not the only draw during the festival; there will also be a Cattle Drive Parade on the second day, starting at 11:30 am. Arts and craft booths, cooking demos, a car show, and tamale eating contest are also scheduled for the weekend. There will be plenty of activities for children too.
Registration for the parade is open to community groups through Friday, September 12, and the festival will be held on September 26 and 27.
