Lewisville festival to gallop back to the past

Lewisville western enthusiasts should note that the Western Days Festival is returning to town to revive the spirit of the Old West.

The annual festival will take place over two days to give guests the opportunity to experience a taste of what life was like back in the cowboy days. There will be themed activities highlighting unique aspects of the era, including a children’s area called Kid Kountry where kids can learn to rope a steer on a calf roping machine, or ride the boogie-woogie train.

Other entertainment includes a tamale eating contest and five stages of performances for attendees to enjoy. There will also be food trucks and vendors with food and beverages available for purchase. No outside food or drink, except for refillable water bottles, will be allowed. The only activity that will not be returning this year is the Cattle Drive Parade, which was affected by COVID-19-related budget cuts.

The Lewisville Wester Days Festival is scheduled for September 24 and September 25. It will take place in the historic Old Town Lewisville along Church and Main Streets. Admission is free for all until 7:00 pm, after which admission is $10 for everyone except children 12 and under.

Organizers of outdoor festivals like this often choose to decorate with themed Banners, which makes businesses offering banner printing an appealing option.
