Lewisville drama program concludes with historical play

For its last play of the 2014-2015 season, the Texas Woman's University drama program will produce Henry V, by William Shakespeare.

One of the bard's historical plays, the drama takes a close look at Henry V as he tries to leave behind his reputation as a wild young man and become a trustworthy king. He has to prepare to face the French army at the Battle of Agincourt and elsewhere.

The play is being directed by Steven Young, an assistant professor of acting in the department. He has directed more than 90 plays, at a number of theaters across the U.S. and in the UK.

Making up the cast of Henry V is a mix of students, former students, and members of the community. Students and faculty will also be handling the design and technical details of the production. Two undergraduate students, Bronwynne Smith and Kolby Campbell, are acting as properties and sound designers, while another undergraduate, Crystal Phariss, is stage managing the play.

Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for students. The drama department is also offering a special option for the performance on Saturday afternoon, when attendees can pay what they wish provided that they book in advance. The students can use postcard printing to spread the word about the special ticket offer. Otherwise, tickets can be purchased over the phone or online. The play runs from April 15 until April 19.
