Lewisville bookstore to host accessible dance classes
Kindred Creatives Art and Literary Press, in collaboration with ADEPT Dance Company, will host the ADEPT Summer Dance Classes in August for children with special needs.
Kindred Creatives is an inclusive bookstore, marketspace, and makerspace that welcomes people of all backgrounds and provides a safe space for people to explore their creativity. ADEPT (Adaptive Dance Education and Performance of Texas) provides children with disabilities the opportunity to learn how to dance regardless of level of ability. It works with schools, homes, community spaces, therapy centers, and local dance studios to offer accessible dance training.
The summer event series will take place at the Kindred Creatives bookstore, which will be closed to customers to protect the privacy of students and ensure a safe environment. The classes will be 30 minutes long and will consist of 12 to 14 children. There will also be a designated parent lounge for those who wish to wait for their child, or parents are welcome to shop in the mall in which the bookstore is located.
Bookstores that host events will often promote them by decorating the venue space with special banners that can be printed professionally at local print shops specializing in banner printing.
The dance classes for August will happen every Tuesday and Thursday. Kindred Creatives is located at 2401 South Stemmons Freeway, Lewisville. Tickets are $18.
