The Visual Art League will present the Playing with Fun Patterns on Paper Workshop in Lewisville this August to teach the 18th-Century transfer technique known as decalcomania.
The Visual Art League of Lewisville is an organization that promotes the visual arts and education, supports local artists and creatives, and expands artistic outreach to the community. The art workshop happening in August will be led by Visual Art League member Tina Alvarez, who is an award-winning artist and photographer.
The class will explore decalcomania, which is a transfer technique in which paint, ink, or another wet medium is applied to a surface and covered with material such as glass or foil, which when removed reveals a decorative pattern. Attendees will learn how to create dendritic art and stress-relieving neurographic paper designs. Participants will need to bring their own supplies, which includes watercolor paint, watercolor paper, gel Pens, black pen, apron, notebook, and box. Other more specialized designs who be provided by hosts.

The Playing with Fun Patterns on Paper Class is scheduled for Saturday, August 3 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. It will be held at the Lewisville Grand Theater, which is located at 100 North Charles Street.
