LEADS, SCORE, and Government Affairs command attention

Whether a local entrepreneur is looking for advice, new business contacts, or a chance to interact with government officials, the Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce has it all.

The action this month begins early on March 16th with LEADS Power Networking at 7:45 am. Put simply, these meet-ups work by giving attendees a chance to promote themselves and their services in a structured networking environment. According to the chamber website, one member will have a ten minute spotlight to detail talk about their businesses. After this, first time members are given a minute to present their companies while everyone else receives 30 seconds. With the same page stating that people can expect to interact with around 70 other entrepreneurs, inquiring into the possibility of professional business card printing is a good idea.

Immediately after LEADS is over, business owners have the option of booking hour long SCORE sessions. It doesn’t matter if an individual is struggling with the logistics of banner printing or sorting out the pros and cons of a new accounting software: these are successful professionals who have been there before. Working in partnership with the Small Business Administration (SBA), SCORE has plenty of resources at its disposal. All Lewisville businesspeople need to do with this one is phone in and book an appointment.

This is without mentioning the Government Affairs meeting on the 22nd. With elected officials from the city and the state, this is a great way for local professionals to get involved with the political process. For this month at least, there’s something for everyone here.
