The Greater Lewisville Community Theatre is producing the popular musical La Cage Aux Folles as its last show of the 2013-2014 season.
To promote the performances, the theater could use poster printing to highlight the numerous Tony awards the show has won. These number at six in total, including Best Score, Best Book, and Best Musical.
The musical version of La Cage Aux Folles is the based on a French play. It is the story of Georges and his partner, Albin, and the very conservative parents of Georges' son's fiancée, Anne. Georges is the owner of a nightclub and Albin is the star of the club. Over the course of the musical, the two families learn to get along, for the sake of their children, as chorus girls and the French Riviera provide the backdrop.
Admission is $20 for adults and $17 for seniors over age 65 or children under age 18. The theater is at 160 W. Main Street, in Old Town Lewisville. Reservations are highly recommended. The tickets are cash only, payable at the box office.
The show opened July 11 and is scheduled to run through August 3. The theater will put on three shows a week, on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm and Sunday at 3:00 pm. Tomorrow, July 17, the theater will put on a special Actors' Benefit performance at 8:00 pm.
