Quilting festival places emphasis on quality

The International Quilt Festival has been booked at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston this fall, and is expected to attract thousands of attendees.

Dozens of vendors will attend the event, selling various products throughout the show. In an effort to keep quality high, a company must have a track record of selling the products for at least one year, and needs to be able to provide a recommendation letter from an industry business associate. Photos of the items or product samples should also be presented to the festival screening committee for approval.

Vendors typically work with a local Print company in ordering needed materials for the show. Most vendors have a banner in their booths that reflects the company or product name, while other vendors order flyer printing so they have Flyers to hand out from the booths. The Flyers can include a special offer for purchasing a product at another time.

Approximately 400 classes and 40 lectures are planned. Quilt exhibits and competitions will be part of the festival, as well. A tour of the Texas Quilt Museum and a Festival Hill Shopping Tour are offered, and the schedule of activities can be found online.

The International Quilt Festival is scheduled for October 30 to November 2. Full details are available on the event website.
