A Houston horticultural club recently announced that it is excited to once again offer the public an opportunity to get a sneak peek behind the garden gate at several of the city’s top horticultural venues.
River Oaks Garden Club will once again be giving city gardeners an opportunity to be inspired to visit some of the city’s top private and public gardens, and this will be its 88th year. Dubbed the “Azalea Trail”, it will include four homes, and a total of seven locations are on the list.
Tickets for the tour are $35.00 each, and the proceeds will support a variety of beautification and other projects such as the annual Sadie Gwin Blackburn Environmental Seminar. Kids age 14 and under may take part for free, but will need to be accompanied by an adult. Many of the locations may be accessible to those who require a mobility device. These garden tours tend to attract both locals and visitors alike.
Home and horticulture tours alike can inspire the participants to create their own plantings , and they may also be effective fundraising activities. A brochure printing company can prepare printed maps of the routes and locations as well as tickets and other materials.
This year’s Azalea Trail will be held from March 7th to March 8th. Its website provides a list of the venues as well as additional information.
