The 7th annual Help Lauren Learn Golf Tournament and Silent Auction is set to take place this June in Kingwood.
Hosted by the Humble Noon Lions Club, this is a fundraising event for Kingwood resident 12-year-old Lauren Daley who is both deaf and blind; it costs her family $1,000 a week to hire an Intervener to help her learn to communicate in a similar way that Helen Keller did.
Everyone who registers to play in the golf tournament will receive a thank you bag, a boxed lunch, a replay certificate and a personal cooler. Fees will also include two drink tickets, a buffet dinner and access to the driving range. In addition to a silent auction, there will be raffles and contests for the longest drive, closest to the pin and putting.
Sponsorships are also available from $25 up to $5,000.
Those who wish to help support this cause will probably come from nearby communities such as Houston. Local flyer printing services may be asked to provide products to help spread the word.
The Help Lauren Learn Golf Tournament and Silent Auction will be held at the Kingwood Country Club on June 5 from 12:00 - 7:30 PM. Golf fees are $150 or $500 for a foursome. To get more information about this event, visit the Help Lauren Learn website.
