The 2nd annual Shaggy Dog Rescue Fest and 5K is taking place this month in Houston. It is a fundraising event for the Shaggy Dog Rescue.
Fees for the race are $35 in advance for those aged 12 and over, and $40 on the day. For children, the fees are $15. There is also a one-mile Pup Fun Run, which costs $10 for everyone.
All participants will receive a T-shirt and a gift bag while supplies last. Race packages can be picked up at the race or at Sports Authority on April 14 from 1:00 - 8:00 pm.
It will be followed by a post-race festival that is set to feature Houston Rocket KJ McDaniels. There will be food trucks, craft beer, and musical entertainment provided by Peacemaker, as well as a variety of pet activities. Vendors will be selling dog-related items or providing information about their programs and services. It is likely that some of the rescue dogs from Shaggy Dog Rescue will be on hand too.
