It’s official - Texas will again host WWE’s Wrestlemania event, the 32nd installment in WWE history.
It marks the first time Texas has partnered with the WWE since Houston launched Wrestlemania’s 25th Anniversary Special in 2007. This year, the event will take place in Arlington on April 3, and it is already expected to draw a record-setting crowd.
According to the Texas Tribune, the state will end up paying roughly $2.7m for the privilege of hosting the event. Gov. Greg Abbott recently approved over $26 million in subsidies to bring major national and international events and attention to Texas in 2016. While that may be a bold number, considering the NCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball Championships are already on the Books, as is the International Weightlifting Federation World Cup, local sport fans are certainly seeing the benefits in their state.
Wrestlemania has proven itself over the years to be one of the most successful sports events in the world, and next year’s spectacle is expected to draw a major international crowd. Local Print companies are no doubt already receiving orders for banner printing and poster printing, suggesting that Texas plans to celebrate this event in style.
Tickets for Wrestlemania 32 will range from $18 all the way up to over $2,000. They can be purchased at WWE.com and AT&T stadium website.
