A charcuterie spread often starts with a board designed to be as attractive as the food, and a Houston workshop is set to prepare these custom items.
Anyone interested in learning the basics of working with epoxy is welcome to register for the class scheduled for late June. It will be hosted at Rockler Woodworking and Hardware, and everyone will craft their own project.
A set number of tickets for the class have been made available, and their price covers both the materials used and the instruction. Closed-toed shoes are mandatory in the classroom, and no loose clothing should be worn.
The participants will prepare a board with a "mini river” epoxy element that adds an extra touch to their piece. They will each create their own “river,” and everyone can choose their custom pigments from the ones provided. Afterwards, the instructor will surface the boards, and they can then be picked up for finishing at home or, if desired, there is an option to do so in the classroom at a later date.
Activities where participants will be working with power tools and other equipment may require waivers that have been custom prepared for the occasion. Stationery printers will be pleased to supply them.
This introduction to the art of working with epoxy will start at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 27. The registration fee is $150.
