When it comes to sustainable living, every community member can play a role, and a Houston activity will give the inside scoop on sorting household waste.
The Coalition of Community Organization has an activity scheduled that it hopes will keep Denver Harbour clean, and it will encourage households to reuse and recycle whenever possible. The Denver Harbor Multi-Service Center on 6402 Market Street will be the venue for the session.
Attendees will learn the “golden rules” when it comes to sorting household waste, and a variety of subject matter experts will share their knowledge with the group. Anyone with paperwork that needs to be shredded or electronics to recycle will be able to do so, and there will be an opportunity to play Lotería and win one of the Corporate Gifts that will be presented as prizes. Tires will also be collected for proper disposal, and giveaways of seeds, gardening supplies and fresh produce have been planned.
To help those who attend respond to a household emergency, everyone will go home with a disaster preparedness kit. These will be filled with essential supplies. Booklets that outline basic first aid techniques and other custom printed materials can be ordered from Stationery printers.
Houston will be hosting Smart Waste Saturday on October 4th starting at 9:00 am. Tickets can be reserved through its web listing.
