Houston venue hosts pop-up plant market

Houston’s gardeners will be able to spring into a new season when they drop by a local pop-up sale.

The Houston Arboretum and Nature Center will be bringing together an extensive collection of species and cultivars for its annual Spring Plant Sale, and it is designed to please both newbies and green thumbs alike. It will be open for two days, and the focus will be on natives with a local provenance.

The market style activity will be filled with plants native to Texas, which means they tend to do well under local growing conditions and attract birds, butterflies and other wildlife. Annuals, perennials, shrubs and trees will all be available for as long as supplies last, and those who shop early will have the best selection. The proceeds will help the Arboretum’s education and conservation efforts.

Pop-up plant sales often take place outdoors, rain or shine, which means any signage and other printed materials used will need to be weather resistant. A banner printing company will be happy to help.

Houston Arboretum and Nature Center will be helping local gardeners hit the ground running this gardening season, and it will be open on March 20th and 21st. More information about how to enter the venue, an updated plant list and other details are available on its website, and it is located at 4501 Woodway Drive.
