The third annual Festival of Chariots is taking place this July in Houston.
This celebration of Indian culture, which is also known as Rath Yatra, will be a free event. It is claimed that it will have a lot to offer people of Indian ancestry, as well as those who are interested in learning more about this colorful culture.
There are set to be a number of food booths that will be selling traditional Indian foods and refreshments. Guests can also have a henna tattoo drawn on their hand or take part in bhakti yoga. Meanwhile, a bazaar will be set up for vendors to provide a variety of Indian-created items, as well as those that have been inspired by the nation’s culture.
The main activity for visitors is expected to be the Indian chariot parade. There will also be demonstrations of dandia raas (a folk dance), and performances by groups such as the Mayapuris Drum and Kirtan Band, the Royal Scottish Dance Troupe, and the Anjai School of Dance.
This event will no doubt attract people from nearby communities such as Humble. To spread the word, local Stationery printers may be asked to provide Flyers or Brochures to be distributed.
The Festival of Chariots is being held on Discovery Green in Houston on July 11th from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. Admission is free of charge. To find out more about the festival, visit the official event website.
