Houston residents who attend an upcoming workshop will be able to hit the ground running when it comes to container gardening.
Whether they use a commercial grow bin or bag or just a large pot happen to have on hand out their balcony, Beauty’s Community Garden will be giving area home horticulturalists the inside scoop on container gardening, and it will have a focus on vegetables. It will offer information for both newbies and seasoned green thumbs alike, and admission will be free.
The facilitator of the class will introduce the registrants to the veggies that tend to do well when cultivated in containers, including which ones do well when grown together. Pest control feeding and other cultural concerns will be discussed, and tips for choosing the right cultivar for the season is also on the agenda. Jasmine Carey will be the instructor for the workshop.
Sitting in on a horticultural workshop can really pay off for a home gardener, and may really appreciate a chance to learn something new. Handouts for a session can be prepared by Stationery printers, and they may include full color photos.
This introduction to the joys of growing in containers will begin at 10:00 am on November 4th. The venue can be found at 32011 Airline Drive, and RSVPs can be submitted through its web listing.
