Comic convention returns to Houston this fall

The Amazing Houston Comic Con is taking place over three days next month. It is a celebration of comic Books, video games, and popular culture.

Some of the best-known comic book artists and writers will be on hand at this year’s convention. Those confirmed include Christ Claremont (a writer for the X-Men comics), Steve McNiven, (the artists of Civil War), and Mat Nastos of Disney. There will be special VIP sessions for Civil War (which cost $200) and the Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles ($175).

The convention is set to feature discussion panels, a video games arena and cosplay costume demonstrations. One of the most popular parts of the convention is always the vendors’ room which features Artists’ Alley. Vendors will be selling action figures, games, Posters, and Books, among other items. There will also be several after-hours parties taking place.

Sunday will be kids’ day and there will be free sketches, art drawings, a kids’ costume parade, and face painting activities.

Organizers have likely invested in poster printing services from a Houston Print company.

The Amazing Houston Comic Con will be held at the George R. Brown Convention Center from September 9 to 11. Tickets are $25 for Friday and Sunday, and $35 for Saturday. Three-day passes are available for $60, or $150 for VIP.
