Oktoberfest Houston is taking place for two days in the city next month. It is a fundraising event for Play for Life Houston.
The festival is a celebration of all things German; it will also celebrate Texas culture. There will be plenty of German and domestic beers, German-inspired food and entertainment such as polka music and dance.
Attendees can also participate in the 7th annual Olympiad Games where they can compete in contests such as the Stein Race, the Barrel Roll and the Brat Toss. There will be beer pong and flip cup tournaments for teams of four with prizes, and contest like the chicken dance, best dressed and yodeling.
There will be a kids and adults fun zone with games like cornhole, giant Jenga and giant Connect 4.
Play for Life Houston is an organization that provides youth sports programs.
VIP tickets are available for $100 in advance or $125 at the door. Tickets will include free food and preferred seating.

Oktoberfest Houston will be held at The Water Works at Buffalo Bayou from September 27 to 28 beginning at 5:00 PM each day. General admission tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Visit the festival website for more information.
