The Bayou City Art Festival is returning to Houston next month for three days. Presented by the Art Colony Association, Inc., a portion of all proceeds are donated to local charities and nonprofits.
Over 300 artists will be showcasing and selling their works in 17 media formats. This includes clay, digital prints, painting, printmaking, and photography. The featured artist for this year is Lisa Telling Kattenbraker from Olympia, Washington.
The 6th annual Middle School Art Competition participants will have their work displayed at the festival and the winners will be announced during the three-day event.
In addition to art, there will be food and wine for purchase from food trucks and vendors, the Green Mountain Energy Zone with interactive art projects. The Children’s Creative Zone will feature face painting, caricature drawing, and juggling performances among other attractions. In addition, there will be musical performances from local and regional acts.
A shuttle is available from Northeast Mall, which costs $4 per person.
It is likely that many of the artists will be investing in products such as Banners and Signs obtained from a favorite Houston printing company.
The Bayou City Art Festival will be held at Memorial Park from March 23 to 25. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door for adults, and $5 for children between the ages of 6 and 12. A family pass is $30 and a two-day pass costs $20. Call 713-521-0133 to learn more.
