Oktoberfest Houston will be back in the city once more at the end of next month.
The annual festival celebrates German beer, food, and culture. Celebrations like this are held all over the world, and this is one of the biggest.
Guests will have the opportunity to taste some of the most popular German beers, as well as local craft brews. They can also buy some traditional German foods such as sauerkraut and sausage. German folk dancers, polka music and plenty of musical entertainment will be on hand, with some of the acts performing at this year’s festival being Eurofest and Yodel Blitz.
The Fun Zone, hosted by the Houston Sports and Social Club, will feature games like cornhole and giant Jenga, as well as Tournament of Champions Beer Pong and Flip Cup competitions. There will also be contests such as yodeling, best dressed, and best chicken dance. Other activities will include the Oktoberfest Olympiad games where participants will compete in the stein race, the brat toss, and the barrel roll.
A Houston poster printing firm may be asked to help advertise the festival in surrounding communities.
Oktoberfest Houston will be held at the Water Works at Buffalo Bayou on September 30. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door, with VIP tickets are available for $100 or $125 and including covered seating, free food, and drinks. Visit the event website for more information.
