The Technical Association of the Graphic Arts (TAGA) annual conference is taking place next month in Houston.
The conference is aimed at those who work in the printing industry, especially those who have the responsibility of designing Packaging, picking colors, and making other graphic design choices.
The first event of the conference will be a student meeting. This will be followed by keynote speeches from Anthony Thirlby, Steve Smiley, John Seymour, and Gary Dispoto, and then a welcome reception. There will be educational sessions on six tracks: Print process, workflow, color, Print evaluation, security, and Packaging. Some topics of discussion will be Packaging applications and color image matching.
Other activities will include daily breakfasts, networking breaks, and a student-only dinner. There will also be a tour of The Printing Museum and an Honors Award banquet. Some of the awards to be handed out include the Education Award of Excellence and the Robert F. Reed Technology Medal.
It is likely that many of those who work for graphic design and printing companies in Houston will be interested in attending this conference and learning more about their field.
The conference will be held at the Houston Marriott West Loop by the Galleria from March 19 to 22. Fees are $695 for TAGA members, $895 for non-members, and $250 for students. For more information about this event, call 412-259-1706.
