Apple got ready for the release of the latest versions of the iPhone and Apple Watch by implementing a wide range of updates to its retail stores. Several stores were timed to reopen just in time for the new releases.
One of those stores is the Apple Store in Highland Village Shopping Center in Houston. The store reopened on September 20, which was the same day that sales started for the iPhone 11, 11 Pro Max, and 11 Pro. People who placed pre-orders received their devices on the same day.
The store in Highland Village closed on July 28. The entire store was sheathed and boarded up so that people could not see the iconic Logo Design or into the store itself. Some of the changes implemented included removing the Genius Bar and replacing it with a new program called Today at Apple. The Highland Village Store has a high glass ceiling so the remodelers were able to include trees in the new design.
Several other Apple Stores across the county were also remodeled. The store in Bridgewater, New Jersey, for example, underwent an expansion project that saw the entire space rebuilt and merged with a space that used to be used by Abercrombie & Fitch. This means that the new store now has double the original width. Other stores that were scheduled to reopen on the same day as the new product releases are located in Bloomington, Minnesota and Tokyo, Japan.
