People have long been fascinated by members of the parrot family, and the smallest budgie to the largest hyacinth macaw will be celebrated during an upcoming Houston gathering.
Houston’s Downtown Aquarium will mark World Parrot Day with a special event, and all ages are on the guest list. There will be an assortment of engaging activities that highlight conservation efforts, and there will be lots of fun, much of it planned with kids in mind.
Visitors to the Aquarium will be able to view various exhibits at the Conservation Station, and a Kids Storytime reading of “What the Macaw Saw” and crafting sessions are both on the agenda. The parrot painting art gallery with works available for sale will be set up in the Treasure Chest Gift Shop, and parrot encounters will be running all day. Everyone can learn about the projects being undertaken by the World Parrot Trust, and they will walk away with lots of ideas for how they can lend these colorful and intelligent feathered friends a helping hand.
Conservation and species protection are some of the tasks that are often undertaken by zoos, aquariums and parks. They can order Letterheads, informational materials and decor for special events from area Print shops.
Downtown Aquarium will welcome this celebration of World Parrot Day on May 30th. Tickets for the festivities can be purchased through its website.
