Birds can add life, movement and interest to the home landscape, and an upcoming Zoom based workshop will show just how easy it can be to invite them into a garden.
The Native Plant Society of Texas’ (NPSOT) Houston and Clear Lake Chapters will be offering a presentation that will explore the ways area property owners can make a particular site more “avian friendly”, and it will be a day-long activity. Anyone who is interested is encouraged to add their name to the list of registrants, and there is no prerequisite needed to participate.
During the class, the learners will discover how factors such as plant choice, available clean water and shelter can all encourage birds to take up residence. The use of native species will be discussed, and everyone can ask questions. In addition to this, they will be introduced to the threats their feathered friends face and how they can lend them a helping hand.
Workshops and other educational functions provide the public with an opportunity to learn about a particular hobby or pastime. Learning materials for many types of activities can be ordered from a local printing services company.
This online introduction to inviting birds and other wildlife into the home landscape is scheduled for March 19. Its scheduled run time is from 9:00 am until 4:15 pm.
