Houston tree giveaway seeking helps hands

Communities all over the world will soon be marking Earth Day in their own special way, and one of the events on the way to Houston will help to expand its urban tree canopy.

Trees for Houston has put out a call seeking volunteers for its Earth Day Tree Giveaway, and all help will be appreciated. There are spots for up to 75 pairs of helping hands, and the activity will take place at Leroy Crump Stadium.

The volunteers will be lending a hand with the distribution of a variety of fruit and other saplings, and the activity will run for four hours. All ages may take part, and anyone who is interested will need to sign up ahead of time. They are asked to bring a reusable water bottle. For safety reasons, closed-toed shoes are required. According to the event listing, if all the spots are filled, anyone who misses out can contact the planners to learn about other opportunities to get involved.

Many not-for-profit groups count on the generous spirit of their volunteers. A Print shop can prepare special Corporate Gifts to present to these helpers to thank them for all they do.

Trees for Houston will be running the tree giveaway in honor of Earth Day on Saturday, April 20. Its web listing provides additional information.
