Houston to host International Quilt Festival

Quilting is an artform that combines form and functionality, and a Houston festival will showcase these handmade works of art from all over the world.

Even if they have never picked up needle and thread, the International Quilt Festival will be an introduction to the craft. The organizers have announced a new addition to the event’s line-up, with both traditional and contemporary designs on display.

The attendees at the celebration will be able to view a wide assortment of quilts, and there will also be classes, workshops, and other learning opportunities. New for this year will be The Festival Judged Show, which will see some of the world’s top quilters vie for a variety of awards and prizes. Anyone who will be coming in from out of town is invited to take advantage of discounted offers at area hotels.

Organizers have expressed their gratitude to those who have lent financial or other support to the festival. The Logo Design of each has been incorporated into the event’s website, and clicking them will take the visitor to the sponsoring business’ website.

The Quilt Festival will be running from October 28 to October 31. A preview evening has been scheduled to take place the evening before its official start date, and it will be held in the George R. Brown Convention Center.
