An event set to become Houston’s latest annual tradition will be held this November, and it will be a celebration of Dia de los Muertos which is also known to some as the Day of the Dead.
The organizers of the day have planned a parade that will celebrate the connection between the living and their ancestors, and everyone is strongly encouraged to participate. It will also recognize the friendship and love that exists between friends and neighbors in the community, and it will both begin and end at Houston City Hall.
The procession will recognize the contributions some of the city’s leaders have made throughout the year, and there will be food, arts and crafts vendors, and much more to experience as well. Those who would like to walk in the parade are asked to wear a costume that fits into the theme of the occasion. All ages are welcome, and the coordinators are hoping that there will be lots of authentic costumery and other pageantry.
The decor chosen for a function like this can often help to add to its overall atmosphere, and Print shops will be able to lend a hand. They can work with the planners to make sure the graphic design and other elements used will be authentic, and they may be able to offer other assistance as well.
The inaugural Houston Dia de los Muertos parade is scheduled for November 6. The festivities will start at 2:00 pm.
