Festival showcases best margaritas

The 8th annual Houston Margarita Festival is taking place in the city later this month. A portion of all proceeds will be donated to the Twi-light Twelve Foundation.

The festival will showcase 19 flavors of margaritas provided by local vendors. There will be several competitions such as the Best Margarita Competition for bars and restaurants; first prize is a $500 donation to the charity of the winner's choice. There will also be a salsa dancing contest where first prize is $150 and a trophy; prizes will also be awarded for 2nd and 3rd place.

There will also be DJ and live bands. Guests are encouraged to bring along a lawn chair to enjoy the entertainment.

VIP tickets are available for $110 and include free food and non-alcoholic drinks, a $1 bar and access to a special lounge; only 300 will be sold. A value pass is also on sale for $37 and includes three margaritas. The first 10,000 ticket holders at any value will receive a free Houston Margarita Festival cup.

Organizers of such events often ask Houston brochure printing firms to provide advertising materials.

The festival will be held at the Water Works in Buffalo Bayou Park on November 23 from 12:00 to 10:00 PM. General admission tickets are $15 in advance or $25 at the door; tickets include one free margarita. Call 218-216-4981 to learn more.
