The 23rd annual Texas Lunar Festival is taking place next month in Houston.
A presentation of the International Trade Center, the festival celebrates Chinese New Year, and this coming year will be the Year of the Rat.
There will be a variety of activities taking place that should appeal to people of all ages. The event will start with a dragon dance and opening ceremonies featuring local dignitaries. This will be followed by a day of music from artists such as the Peking Opera and Cinday Zou, dance provided by the J & H Dance School and the Starway Dance Academy, and fashion shows.
There will also be demonstrations of tai chi, belly dancing and salsa dancing. Prizes will be awarded with Naskilia gaming drawings throughout the day.
Vendors will be on hand to sell a variety of Asian-related items and food. Vendor spaces are still available for $199 for general merchandise and $299 for food. Sponsorships are also available for $500 up to $50,000.
