The Citgo Freedom over Texas festival is taking place this Independence Day in Houston.
The festival will be taking place at two downtown parks and will feature something for the entire family to enjoy. There will be several stages set up for entertainment. The top headliners for this year will be Jake Owen and Kellie Pickler. Other musical acts set to perform include Los Luzeros de Rioverde, Mary Griffin, 35 to Nowhere, and several other local artists.
The Walmart All-American Kids Zone will have aerialists, an obstacle course and a rock wall, among other activities. The Space City Experience will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing and will feature robotic demonstrations, astronauts and several virtual reality displays.
Food vendors will be on hand to provide snacks, meals and drinks. Other areas of the festival will be the Dr. Pepper Zone and Liberty Park. There will also be a salute to the military. The evening will end off with a fireworks display that will be seen all over the city.
