Annual festival promotes science education

Mind Trekkers: Adventures in STEM is taking place over two days next month in the Houston area. It is presented by the San Jacinto College Foundation.

The festival is mainly for students in the 6th grade. School field trips will make up the majority of the festival's attendees over both days, however, the first evening will also feature a family night from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Attendees will have the opportunity to take place in many hands-on activities, such as ice cream making, blowing large bubbles, or shooting ping pong balls into a soda can. Each person attending will receive a T-shirt.

Sponsorships are available from $3,000 to $12,000. Sponsors will be allowed to host exhibitor booths. They will also have their logo printed on the event T-Shirts and on Banners throughout the venue.

STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and math education, and the aim of the festival is to show students how much fun technology can be and to encourage them to pursue science education. Houston banner printing firms are frequently asked to provide sponsor Banners for such festivals.

Mind Trekkers will take place from March 5 to 6 at San Jacinto College, Building 18 in Pasadena. School field trips are booked in advance, but anyone can attend the family night on March 5 free of charge. Contact Yessenia Jimenez at 281-459-7137 for more information.
