The 4th annual Edible Houston Local Hero Awards is taking place next month in the city.
Awards will be given out to the best food-related organizations and businesses in Houston. The public had the opportunity to vote for these awards and a panel of experts chose the ultimate finalists. There are 12 categories of competition including Farm, Farmers Market, Food Artisan, Non-Professional Food Organization and Chef. The nominees have been pared down to three per category and the winners will be announced at the awards. The winners will receive a specially designed custom award.
Guests will have the opportunity to sample the foods provided by these finalists; there will also be beer, liquor and wine. Musical entertainment during the evening will be provided by the Will Van Horn Band. Guests will also receive a raffle ticket.
A VIP ticket is available for $50 per person. It includes five raffle tickets, gifts from the award finalists, a private cocktail party and entry to the event half an hour earlier where they will be served a specialty cocktail.
