Wholesale grocer to open in Fort Worth

Fort Worth residents will soon have an alternative to Costco and Sam's Club with the opening of the city’s first ever BJ’s Wholesale Club.

The new wholesale grocery store will be located in southwest Forth Worth in proximity to Chisholm Trail Parkway, approximately three miles from the closest Costco and nearly four miles from the nearest Sam’s Club. Like those competing wholesale grocery chains, BJ’s Wholesale Club uses a membership model, meaning only card members can buy items in the store. Non-members can, however, obtain a one-day pass to enable them to shop as a test run.

New businesses can obtain both interior and exterior signage from local Print shops.

Through May 14, interested parties can get a deal on a BJ’s memberships that amounts to 65% off for a one-year membership. This founding membership special offer can be obtained either by enrolling online or visiting the company’s local membership center at 4943 S. Hulen Street from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm Monday through Saturday, or 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on Sundays.

The 106,000-square-foot location will be at 7241 Harris Parkway and will be constructed at a cost of $9.5m. The store will carry household goods, electronics, and clothing in addition to groceries.

Based in Massachusetts, BJ’s Wholesale Club has adopted a rapid growth plan that will see 25 to 30 of its new Texas stores opening during the next five years. The Fort Worth store will be opening sometime this spring.
