Even in an urban environment, nature finds a way, and a Philadelphia venue that offers a sneak peek into the city’s wild side has an event in the works to introduce it to the public.
The Woodlands’ Nature Nights are casual activities that introduce the public to the nature all around them. For one evening next week, the focus will be on raptors and other birds of prey. It will run for two hours, and all ages are welcome.
The plans for the evening will see the attendees learn about urban birding, and they will head outdoors to see if they can hear or spot an owl. The Walnut Street West Free Library will facilitate a story reading session, and a visit to the Philadelphia Orchard Project will also be taking place. Pop Along food truck will supply the treats for the evening, and this all on offer free of charge. Those interested are strongly advised to secure their spot well in advance.
Nature-based learning can be a lot of fun, and it may also help to spark a love of the environment in those who take part. Stationery printers will be able to prepare activity sheets and other handouts that may help the participants learn even more.
The Woodlands has scheduled its Raptor Night for Thursday, October 5. It will begin at 5:30 pm.
