Philly picnic offers salute to former military

Philly’s veterans from all branches of service will soon be coming together at a local historic venue for a day that will offer them a hearty salute.

The date has been set for the Homecoming 250 All Veterans Reunion Picnic in Philadelphia , and the festivities are also open to the general public. It will be held at Independence National Historical Park, and the agenda for the day will be filled with fun, learning about community resources and also advocacy.

The attendees will be able to take in the live entertainment, and military bands will be performing for the crowd. There will be interactive activities and a chance to cheer on the participants in the friendly inter-branch competitions. A resources fair will connect vets with services and support, and everyone can do some advance holiday shopping in the vet owned vendor market. Former military members will be recognized with honoring ceremonies, and both volunteer and sponsorship programs are in place.
