A celebration of Japanese culture, food, and art is on the horizon for Philadelphia, and it promises to be a day filled with fun for all.
Bringing a taste of the Far East to the East Coast, the planners of this occasion hope that those who attend the Sakura Sunday festival will walk away feeling like they have just been on a mini Japanese vacation. It will be on offer in the Fairmount Park Horticultural Center, which will be filled with hundreds of colorful cherry trees.
Guests at the event will find themselves immersed in an experience that showcases Japanese culture, both contemporary and traditional. There will be sake, cocktail, and beer gardens as well as anime areas, demonstrations of dance and drumming, a pet parade, and a Sushi Samurai competition. The ticket price for all of this begins at $10 each.
The activities planned for Sakura Saturday will run throughout the day, and all ages are welcome. A themed banner can add the final touch to this sort of community event, and these can be sourced from a local banner printing company.
The gates for this expo that will be focused on Japan are scheduled to open at 9:00 am on April 14. Members of the public who would like more information have been asked to contact info@japanphilly.org.
