Some children with autism find the noise, lights, and other stimulation associated with the holidays to be overwhelming. A sensory-friendly celebration will give autistic youngsters from Philadelphia a chance to get in of the festive fun, and it is planned for this December.
Pump it Up, which can be found in Springfield, will be the venue for two and a half hours of excitement that will be adapted so that it is not as noisy or “high energy” as a typical holiday celebration. Santa will be stopping by, and has been trained so that he will be able to interact with the younger guests in a way that is easiest for them, whether they are non-verbal or can speak.
The kids at the event will be invited to spend some time in the inflatable play spaces where they can jump and have fun to their hearts content, and siblings are also welcome. Pizza, snacks and drinks will be served, and Santa will give each child who is registered a present of their own to take home with them. A printing services company will be able to offer lots of gift ideas that can be a good fit for this sort of celebration.
Pump it Up will be welcoming area autism families on December 19. It is being offered to the community thanks to the SO Love Autistic Center.
