Members of the Gibsonia community who are looking for stimulating ways to stay active are in luck, as a 5K fundraising run is coming to town next month.
The Fawn Meet & Greet 5K Run will be presenting a magical experience to children in Gibsonia, as they will get to meet Fawn either before or during the race. Children who are signed up to participate in the Head for the Cure Kids’ Fun Run will have an opportunity for the meet-and-greet before their run takes off.
Attendees can feel satisfaction in aiding the fight to fund cancer research and raise awareness of the affliction. Organizers have pledged to put money raised toward the brain tumor research being conducted by the UMPC Hillman Cancer Center. Banner printing is a cost-effective promotional option for running events like this, with the Banners increasing awareness and visibility.
Other funds will benefit the Brain Cancer Awareness 5K, Path to Hope, and several other brain cancer programs and educational workshops. Participants are welcome to run, jog, or walk the course at a pace that feels comfortable to them, since the run will not be timed.
The North Park Boathouse, located in Gibsonia, has been announced as the host site for the 5K run and fundraiser, which starts at 8:00 AM on Saturday, August 8. Interested individuals can register online for $34 per person.
