Pierogi-themed running event planned for Gibsonia
Pierogi lovers and running enthusiasts are well catered for next month, as a pierogi-themed 5K event is set to bring the hustle to Gibsonia.
The Dyngus Day 5K Pierogi Run will begin in a few weeks, and runners and walkers are encouraged to register. Participants will walk or run with Pierogi Pete on a 5K course that starts at the North Park Boathouse. Proceeds from participants will go toward scholarship opportunities for local students through the Kosciuszko Foundation Pittsburgh Chapter.
The 5K is a family-friendly event ideal for guests who are comfortable walking or running during the course. The top finishers at the 5K will receive medals for their achievements. Cash prizes are also available at the event, providing runners with added motivation.
Pierogies from local vendors will be available to participants and spectators at the 5K event. Guests can try different restaurants in the Gibsonia area to find their favorite pierogies while listening to classic polka music. Banner printing is a memorable way to welcome runners and walkers to the finish line at events like this. Participants will also receive a T-shirt commemorating the race.
The race will begin in North Park and is scheduled for Saturday, April 13, beginning at 9:00 AM and ending at noon. Registration costs $30, and interested parties can reserve spots online.
