Birdwatching kayak tours take Gibsonia into nature
A unique birdwatching tour is set to help Gibsonia residents hit the water and watch local birds next month, and nature enthusiasts are being encouraged to attend.
The Birdwatching Kayak Tour, sponsored by The National Aviary and L.L. Bean, will combine birdwatching and kayaking into an all-encompassing nature event in a few weeks. The event will be led by experts and professionals, and registered guests will paddle onto a lake in kayaks to look for bird species native to the Gibsonia region.
The guides will provide hands-on instructions on using kayaks and kayaking equipment for a safe experience on the water. Instructions will focus on safety guidelines and the types of strokes for controlling the vessel. After instruction, a National Aviary guide will lead registered guests into the waters of North Park Lake. Brochure printing is an effective way to help attendees learn and retain information at such educational events.
Participants will use kayaks to navigate the lake and scan the shoreline and surrounding trees for different bird species. L.L. Bean will provide all equipment, including safety equipment and binoculars. Children over eight are welcome but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The event will be held at North Lake Park on Sunday, July 21st, beginning at 6:00 pm and ending at 9:00 pm. Tickets are available online for $75 per attendee.
